Bills to Host E.J. Manuel in Private WorkoutPosted: March 23, 2013
The quarterback needy Bills are continually making it clear their first priority in the 2013 NFL Draft is to grab a starting quarterback.
The announcement that Buffalo will host Florida St. QB E.J. Manuel for a private workout is simply another indication that the Bills will take a quarterback somewhere in the first or second round of the draft.
While Buffalo’s interest in West Virginia’s Geno Smith is well known and there are rumors about Syracuse’s Ryan Nassib (due to connections with new head coach Doug Marrone), the Bills have some options at quarterback between the three prospects.
Manuel is currently climbing draft boards, and Nassib has been talked up recently by scouts and analysts as well–there is a chance that Buffalo will have to trade up from their early second-round pick to nab either Manuel or Nassib late in the first-round.
Of course, this is all assuming Buffalo doesn’t get Smith at eighth-overall.
