Long has an NFL pedigree — father Howie and brother Chris (Rams defensive end) — that backs his skill with reputation. He’s a former defensive lineman, like Peters, who can play both tackle and guard and plays with a nasty attitude at both positions.
He’s got room to develop, with it being uncertain what position he’ll play in the NFL. The Bears have more of a need at tackle than guard, so it’s certain they’ll at least try him out at tackle before moving inside.
