21. Bengals – TE Tyler Eifert

Notre Dame Redshirt Junior

Measurables: 6’6″ 250 lbs 33 1/8″ arm length

NFL Combine: 4.65 40-yard 22 bench reps

NFL Comparison: Heath Miller

It’s no surprise the Steelers were looking at Eifert for a while when compared to Heath Miller, but it’s the Bengals that grab him at no. 21.

This pick is simply a question mark because Cincinnati already has Jermaine Gresham as a starter, so it’s uncertain why they’re going for Eifert here instead of aiding several positions of need.

With that said, he’s the most complete tight end of this year’s group — he’s a better route runner and pass-catcher than Stanford tight end Zach Ertz and he’s a decent blocker. He’s not the quickest of the group, but he’s got good hands and was a team leader on the offense at Notre Dame.
